The people of St Andrew’s Church and their sister church, Christ the King Bowburn, are looking forward to welcoming their first Assistant Curate for 30 years.
Gareth Gladman, currently Youth and Community Worker at St. Helen’s Auckland and originally from Norfolk, will be ordained deacon by the Bishop of Durham in the Cathedral on the morning of 2 July. He will then begin four years of full-time training in the two parishes under the supervision of Fr John Livesley.
Fr Gareth will be welcomed into the parishes at a special service of Choral Evensong and Benediction in St Andrew’s on Sunday 2 July at 6pm, which will followed by a free buffet supper and bubbly.
Everyone is most welcome to attend this service, and Fr Gareth is looking forward to meeting and working not only with the congregations but with the wider community.
