Local heritage season

The Discovery Centre in Bishop Auckland will be launching its local heritage season at the start of the New Year.

The Discovery Centre is looking to feature exhibitions on local history for its local heritage season.

If you are a local history group or an individual with an interest in local history, the Discovery Centre would like to feature your work. Research and objects can be displayed at the centre; they can also help promote your collection to the visiting public.

The room is free to use and there are friendly volunteers on hand to man the exhibition.

If the exhibition involves sales of items, the Discovery Centre does ask for a 10% commission. The Centre typically opens at 10am and closes at 1pm Tuesday – Friday but can open longer if requested.

The local heritage season will take place in the Discovery Centre starting in January and running till March 2011.

Should you wish to use the centre to display anything, please contact Daniel Parmley on 01388 662666.
