Local author publishes second poetry book

Shildon poet, David Coates has published his second collection of poetry, and the Shildon Town Crier has copies to purchase, as well as three copies to give away in our free to enter competition.

Chinwag Still Remembers and other poems is also available at Kelly’s Cards and Gifts as well as All Cyced Up, both on Church Street.

David, 69, published his previous book in 2011, but has contributed to several magazines over the last three decades.

Other poems in the collection include For Winslow Homer, a homage to the American artist who visited the North East in 1881 and A Strange Mystery, December 1926, on the 11-day disappearance of Agatha Christie.
