Dear Editor,
As my Mayoral duties have now concluded, I would like to say a special thank you to my fellow mayors, family and friends who supported my fundraising efforts by attending events and donating prizes.
This past year has shown how Bishop Auckland is truly on the map for all the right reasons.
Bishop Auckland Rugby Club 2nd team became the 2024 winners of the XV Men Candy Division II.
Bishop Auckland football club became the Northern League champions and were promoted to the Northern Premier league East Division.
Bishop Auckland Rotary Club celebrate their 100th year.
The great work by the local Stoma Support Group was also recognised as I attended an afternoon at the Town Hall where the group received the King’s Award for Voluntary Service.
We have much to be proud of!
My two charities for the year were, Alzheimer’s UK and the Angel Trust. A total of £5026.44 was raised.
I do hope my fundraising donations will help both organisations go from strength to strength.
Yours sincerely,
Cllr Sam Zair, Bishop Auckland
