Councillor Peter Quinn and members of the Shildon Branch of the Royal British Legion would like to thank the Manager and staff of Costa Cafe in Church Street for allowing them to set up a table over the last two weeks.
The RBL volunteers have been overwhelmed by the continued support of Shildon people in this year’s Remembrance Collection and in particular the support from Costa Coffee in the town.
Cllr Quinn, on behalf of members of the Legion said: “Boxes have also been distributed in schools, shops and pubs so that everyone has had the opportunity to support our cause in remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us. “We are hoping to be on target for a very good year and the results of the total will be announced early in December.
“We have been ably assisted by our volunteer collectors and we wish to thank them for their efforts.
“Our thanks also to Costa for allowing us to collect on their premises.
“All monies collected will go to help those who have served in the many conflicts over the last 100 years. “Thank you everyone and God willing we will see you all again next year.”
