Last Sunday saw Chilton Juniors Football Club’s under 7s play their last game of their first mini season together and last their competitive game of 2024, reported the club on its Facebook page. The lads signed off the campaign with an outstanding team performance and came away with a hard fought victory.
Chilton took the lead from the spot after good footwork from George saw his marker commit a foul inside of the box. Finlee stepped up and hit it straight down the middle.
Chilton extended the lead shortly after when a great pass by Dylan found George on the right who cut in calmly slotted the ball home. Finlee grabbed his second of the game with a thunderous strike just inside the opposition’s half which saw the ball fly into the top right hand corner, leaving the keeper stranded. There was a late comeback from the visitors, but Chilton did enough to hold on for the win.
Well done to the lads on their first season which saw us record four victories and some good strong performances. It was a learning curve for both coaches and players who can take a lot of positives going in to 2025.
