Families across the town last week were given the chance to pick out some baby clothes for free. Shildon Town Council ran another successful baby event at the council offices to the delight of mums-to-be and those with young babies.
Rosie Snell was thrilled to be able to get a small selection of clothes ready to put away for her son, who’s due next March.
“With things being so expensive at the moment, it’s great to be able to come here and get my son his first wardrobe and for free, it’s just a weight off my mind,” she said.
Shildon Town Council were thrilled at the great turnout and supported fifteen families within the first hour.
”It’s lovely to see young families stock up on some absolutely beautiful clothes that other families have donated,” said a spokesperson.
“Some items have tags on and have never even been worn.
“Shildon Alive have also kindly donated baby food pouches, baby shampoo and body wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste and various sizes of nappies that lots of parents loved to receive.”
