Funding for holiday activites with healthy food

As part of BASH AAP summer holiday funding, Shildon Alive hosted a Food Science Workshop with lots of morning experiments followed by cup cake baking in the afternoon.

Funding is now available for activities for children, young people and families during the October half-term holidays.

The scheme aims to support local community groups and organisations based in the Bishop Auckland and Shildon AAP area to deliver enriching holiday activities during the school holidays which include access to healthy food. Applicants can apply for amounts over £500 and delivery must take place during the school holidays.

It should be noted that funding is limited, and BASH AAP is expecting this to be a competitive process. Applicants must provide face to face enriching activities and at least one healthy meal (breakfast, lunch or tea) that meets School Food Standards and Food Safety Requirements.

Application forms can be requested from Bishop Auckland and Shildon AAP by calling 03000 268 663 or emailing bishopshildonaap[@]durham[.]gov[.]uk. All fully completed applications and supporting documents must be received by 12 noon on Wednesday 20 September.

“Please note that individuals or profit making organisations cannot be funded,” said a spokesperson. If you require any further information, please get in touch with a member of the team.
