AGE UK County Durham will be working with Shildon Town Council, Shildon Alive and Jubilee Fields Community Centre to deliver hot meals during the colder months to people aged 50 years and over, living in Shildon and the surrounding area.
Starting in September, the project aims to support people aged 50 years and over for whom a hot meal and other support is often out of reach. If you are lonely and socially isolated, living with a physical or mental disability or struggling financially then this project is for you.
“It’s simple to register yourself, or if you know someone who could benefit from this service, please call us and we will do the rest,” said a spokesperson at Shildon Town Council. “If you need a home visit to help with forms or to check your eligibility then just ask. We’re here to help.”
