An outdoor synthetic ice rink is coming to the heart of Spennymoor on Saturday 14th December from midday until 6pm.
The rink will be free for the local community, providing the perfect opportunity for beginners, children, and first-timers to experience the fun of skating. Set against the festive backdrop of the Spennymoor Christmas Market, it promises to add extra sparkle to an exciting day of seasonal activities.
The highly anticipated Christmas Market, taking over Festival Walk and the High Street, will offer something for everyone. From unique market stalls to festive entertainment, visitors can enjoy roaming characters, stilt-walkers, and a magical free snow globe experience.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the event will feature live music, including performances by the Spennymoor Town Band and local singers, creating the perfect soundtrack to a Christmas celebration.
Michael Webstell, Event Producer at Baccanalia, who are organising the event said: “We’re really excited to bring amazing traders, great entertainment, and free attractions to Spennymoor Christmas Market. The Spennymoor Christmas Market is designed to nurture community spirit and showcase the very best of County Durham, and has been made possible through support from Durham County Council, UK Government funding and All Together for Spennymoor.
