The big showdown match between ACC and Durham Bede was cancelled at short notice last weekend after one of Auckland Chilton Croquet Club’s players was taken ill on Saturday morning, reports Richard Peck.
We now have the unenviable task of rearranging three league games to be played in the September and early October period. Details will be published once the scheduling has been agreed.
Meanwhile, If you would like to give croquet a try, why not come down and have a go for free. We are located at the Miners Welfare Recreation Ground at Chilton, behind the Jet petrol station on the A167. There’s no age limit and all equipment use and coaching is free.
We’re usually there on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons from 2pm until 4-4.30-ish.
