Shildon Railway Cricket Club recently held its Annual General Meeting when the following officials were elected.
President: Jim Robinson;
Vice President: Keith Robinson;
Chairman: Joe Knowles;
Vice Chairman: Tom Wickins;
Secretary & Treasurer: Adam Bayles;
Assistant Secretary & Child Welfare Officer: Greg Upton;
Press Officer: John Brennan;
Committee: Dan Richardson, Tyler Claydon, Michael Lumley, Simon Reynolds.
The club acknowledged the resignation of Shane Rowley, who will take a step back from club duties and next season play when he is available for the 2nd team.
The club expressed its gratitude for Shane’s sterling work over recent years.
Acting Chairman, Adam Bayles, spoke of the 1st team’s good season, finishing 4th in a strong Division 2 of the North Yorks & South Durham Premier Cricket League.
He went on to express delight at the newly reformed 2nd team. They were runners up in Division C of the Darlington District Cricket League, winning promotion to Division B. They also won the Division C Cup and reached the final of the Howell Trophy, which will be replayed next season having been abandoned due to the weather.
Sponsors were thanked and the date of Saturday 3 February set as the Club Presentation Night.
