Young thespians from St John’s RC School in Bishop Auckland will be treading the boards soon in The Tearaways Youth Theatre’s production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Jake Ashford takes on the lead role of Charlie Bucket, whilst Emma Burnett is his ever-adoring mother Mrs. Bucket.
Gum-chewing Violet Beau- regarde is portrayed by 15 year-old Abi Reese, whilst Jade Hind is the foodaholic Augustus Gloop. Emma Brookes and Joshua Holmes will play two of the children’s favourite group of characters, the Ooompa Loompas. During all four perfor- mances at the Civic Hall in Shildon, between Thursday 9th and Sunday 12th June, free chocolate and sweets will be handed out .
