Great Aycliffe Cancer Charity Shop and Hub in Newton Aycliffe Town Centre is looking for volunteers to help on Tuesdays, either 10am-2.30pm (includes a lunch break) or 10am – 12.30pm (morning shift), or 12.30pm-2.30pm (afternoon shift).
The same time slots are also available on Thursdays.
The charity, which is busier than ever due to more people diagnosed with cancer, is fully run by volunteers and the shop helps raise vital funds to keep its free services like patient transport running. This service costs at least £5,000 per annum alone.
A spokesperson said: “We aim to provide help and support where it needed, but we cannot do that without our volunteers who play a vital in our charity.”
To become a volunteer you will need to: be friendly and helpful; work well as a team and respect confidentiality.
