A local roofing company has stepped in to help 1st Ferryhill Scout Group, donating both time and materials to carry out repairs to the roof of the group’s hall.
CG Roofing and Building Services replaced a number of damaged roof tiles free of charge, helping to protect the Scout Hall from further problems as the winter months approach.
The generous gesture from local roofer Chris has provided the Group with some much-needed breathing space while it works towards raising funds required for a complete roof replacement.
Group Lead Volunteer, Malcolm Turnbull said the Scout Group were extremely grateful for the support: “ We are extremely grateful to Chris for donating his time and materials to ensure the hall roof is repaired for the winter until we can raise the £24,000 to carry out a full replacement”.
The hall is an important facility for the scout group, providing a place for the young people to meet, learn new skills and take part in scouting activities.
The group says Chris’s generosity is a fantastic example of local community spirit with a local tradesman stepping forward to help a community organisation when it needed it most.
Every donation, no matter how small, can make a meaningful difference. We understand that times are financially difficult for many people, but if you’re able to contribute anything at all, your support would be greatly appreciated and will help our Scout Group continue providing valuable opportunities and experiences for our young people.
If you want to make a donation or require any more information, please do not hesitate to contact Malcolm Turnbull via email at ferryhill@bishopaucklandscouts.org.uk thank you!
