Bishop Auckland Civic Society’s Annual Town Quiz took place at Bishop Auckland Rugby Club on Monday 4 December reports Gillian Wales.
Quiz master Glynn Wales was in excellent enigmatic form and delivered a challenging and varied series of questions.
Pie and peas were served and a splendid Grand Raffle enticed participants to give generously.
A magnificent £600 was raised to support ‘Crisis in the Community’ – a local initiative managed by Woodhouse Close Community Centre.
Sincere thanks were extended to all those individuals and local businesses who donated prizes for the raffle; the trusty band of gophers who turn up every year to administer the team results; and last but by no means least, Darren, Donna and the staff of the Rugby Club, without whose generous free use of the building the Annual Quiz could not have gone ahead.
A date for the diary: Prepare to be challenged on Monday, 2nd December when the 2024 Annual Town Quiz will take place!
