Thursday 29th May was all about celebrating achievements at the Shildon Children’s Centre on Byerley Road.
Over the past 12 months over 50 learners have accessed some form of training or volunteering at the facility. A celebration was held in recognition of the dedication, commitment and hard work of the learners to get them to where they are now. Many learners have progressed on to employment and a number of volunteers have progressed on to work in the wider community.
Councillor Brian Stephens from the Health Express project in Shildon presented each learner and volunteer with certificates and also funded the celebration event with a buffet which was enjoyed by all.
Some of the courses delivered over the past 12 months include;
Health and Nutrition level 2
Maths and English level 1 and 2
Teaching Assistant level 2 and 3
Baby Resus and Accident prevention

Equality and Diversity.
