Open Call for Artists: Exhibit Your Work at The Artists Hub this Christmas

The exhibition will coincide with Christmas Town.

The Artists Hub in Bishop Auckland is inviting local and regional artists to submit work for its upcoming Open Exhibition, offering an opportunity to showcase and sell artwork during the busy festive period.

The exhibition will coincide with Christmas Town, when Bishop Auckland usually welcomes up to 35,000 visitors, with more than 2,000 visitors anticipated at The Artists Hub during this period.

Artists working across a range of mediums are invited to submit work for consideration. Selected pieces will be displayed at The Artists Hub, giving artists the opportunity to reach new audiences, promote their practice and offer work for sale.

To apply, artists should email transformativeart@aucklandproject.org by 25 October 2026, providing:

• An image of each artwork they would like to display

• The artist’s name and artwork title

• Medium and dimensions

• Sale price, if applicable

• One additional artwork may also be submitted as a backup

There is a £5 entry fee per artwork selected for display, and a 30% commission will be taken on works sold. Final selections will be made according to the exhibition space available.

Christmas Town Artist Tables

Artists taking part in the Open Exhibition will also have the opportunity to book a table at The Artists Hub during Christmas Town, providing an additional platform to sell prints, original artwork and other creative items directly to visitors.

Tables cost £110, covering all four opening periods:

• Thursday 3 December: 4pm–7.30pm

• Friday 4 December: 10am–7.30pm

• Saturday 5 December: 10am–7.30pm

• Sunday 6 December: 10am–3pm

The Open Exhibition is an opportunity for artists to get their work seen, connect with visitors and fellow creatives, and become part of one of Bishop Auckland’s busiest events of the year.

Deadline for submissions: 25 October 2026
