A powerful new documentary series, A Day in My Life, is set to give viewers an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the Solan Connor Fawcett Family Cancer Trust. The opening episode features Mark Solan and his dedicated team, spotlighting the emotional journey of those living with cancer and the “warriors” who support them within the hub’s four walls.
Acclaimed filmmaker Dean Midas, best known for his award-winning horror shorts and chilling cinematic style, is behind the new project that trades fictional fears for real-life bravery.
While the subject matter deals with the profound challenges of a cancer diagnosis, the episode is a testament to human resilience. It balances heart-wrenching stories with a message of overwhelming positivity, community spirit, and the life-changing impact of the Trust’s work.
Part one of the series follows Mark Solan, who founded the Trust after losing both his mother and grandmother to cancer. Since its inception, the hub has become a sanctuary for families in the North East, providing everything from professional counseling and physical therapies to simple, much-needed moments of joy.
Mark Solan, founder of the Trust, said: “Having Dean capture the essence of what we do here has been incredible. He has a way of seeing the story that is truly unique, and we can’t wait for everyone to see the ‘warriors’ we see every single day.”
“We wanted to show the reality of what happens here,” says Dean Midas. “It’s about the tears, yes, but it’s also about the laughter, the cups of tea, and the fact that no one has to walk this path alone. Mark’s energy is infectious, and we want the world to see the vital lifeline this hub provides.”
A Day in My Life is more than a documentary; it is a call to action to support local charities and a reminder that even in our darkest days, there is a community ready to hold us up.
