The Bishop Auckland and Shildon AAP Your Money Your Area Your Views event was a huge success on Saturday 16th November. More than 800 people attended the event, held at Bishop Auckland College, and voted for their favourite projects to receive a share of an available £25,000 pot.
At the event members of the public were given the chance to vote on the 45 projects bidding for the public vote to secure funding bids from £500 – £2,000. 16 projects received a share of the £25,000 handout.
An event spokesperson commented, “The event was a fantastic opportunity to showcase what is available in the community and also a chance to network with other groups.
“All attendees were also given the chance to take part in Durham County Council’s Medium Term Financial Plan Consultation.
