This year the world day of prayer service has been written by the women of The Cook Islands in the South Pacific. Think beautiful beaches, golden sands, blue skies…
The service is a celebration of life – “May you shine like the sun, May you dance with the waves.”
Of course there are problems in the Cook Islands too, and we will hear about them, and how they are being overcome.
The World Day of Prayer starts in the South Pacific islands, then moves on to New Zealand, Australia, then the countries of Asia, Africa and Europe, arriving in St Andrew’s, Spennymoor at 6.30pm, on 7 March, before moving on to America, and ending in American Samoa.
Come and take part, and be part of a wonderful wave of prayer encircling the globe, praying with and for the Cook Islands and it’s people.
All denominations, ages, nationalities and gender welcome.
After the service there will be tea and sweet treats using ingredients commonly used in the Cook Islands.
