Due to the ongoing groundworks to build a toilet at Whitworth Church, services have been suspended for a few weeks. The Parochial Church Council apologise for the inconvenience the closure causes, which also includes the churchyard which is inaccessible for safety reasons.
Whitworth’s sister church, St Paul’s Spennymoor, continues to hold services on Sunday mornings at 10:30am – which are live streamed here – and Wednesdays at 9:30am.
Play Church for pre-school children and their parents/carers returns after the summer break on Friday 8th September at 10am.
Further information on when the building will reopen for worship will be announced in due course.
The groundworks are in preparation to build a new toilet which will be accessible during services and events. New external pathway lights are also being installed which will make it safer to access the church in the winter.
