Shildon AFC were unable to reclaim top spot in the Northern League Division One table at the weekend as the weather once again won the day.
Shildon’s scheduled league match at Crook Town – as well as most of the non-league calendar – was called off after the heavy snowfall.
Having relinquished top stop the previous week, the Railwaymen could have reclaimed the lead with Bishop Auckland engaged in an FA Vase match, which also fell foul of the conditions.
And so the opportunity presents itself again this weekend as Shildon travel to Northallerton while the league leaders once again travel to Blyth Town in the Vase.
