Shildon under 8s welcomed Golden Flatts to the Scouts Field last weekend on a blustery morning.
The game got underway with Golden Flatts scoring an early goal.
Shildon made a slow start and by the time the half time whistle blew, the game looked out of reach with the home side three-nil behind.
But the second half saw a different Shildon, who played more positive football and before the visitors knew what had happened, John Taylor had brought the scores level with a quick fire hat trick.
The home side now had their tails up and another goal by Noah Fawcett put Shildon into the lead.
And the lead could have been extended but for two shots which cannoned off the cross bar from Sam and John.
The defence of Xander Caygill, Callum Dale, Noah Fawcett and Adam Thompson also remained strong throughout the second half.
Then, in the final moments of the game, Sam Hopper secured a superb comeback victory by scoring Shildon’s fifth for a final score of 5-3 to the home side.
