Two-week round-up for St Mary’s

Bishop Auckland St. Mary’s Under 9 Aces played the Under 9 Kings in an all St. Mary’s 1st Division league game last Sunday.

Danny Shaw got the all important goal for the Aces, with Luke Pinkney gaining man-of-the-match for the Aces and Robbie Stephenson for the KIngs.

The Under 10 Aces lost away at Leven FC, while the Under 11s had a very exciting 6-5 win over Spraire Elite away, with goals from Corbyn Mitchell (4), Jack Wood and Will Barnham.

The Under 12 Aces had an emphatic 11-0 win in the Cup over Darlington Youth, with goals from Aaron Willoughby (3), Luke Penberthy (3), Tom Aldsworth (2), Ben Shaw (2) and Curtis Layfield.

The Under 12 Kings lost 2-0 in a close game against Stockton West End.

The U13s had their best performance of the season with a 3-0 home win against Tibs, with goals from Aidan O’Hara, Adam Hall and Callum Thompson.

The Under 15 Kings had a good 2-2 draw away at Coulby Newham after twice going behind. Harry Coulthard equalised first and Sam Parnaby equalised again.

The Under 8s had a great game against Greatham which ended all square.

The Under 9 Aces also had a very close game against Norton & Stockton, with St. Mary’s just edging it with two goals from Danny Shaw and one from Robbie Wilkinson. Joe Glasper was man-of-the-match for the second game with Jack Dixon scoring.

The Under 10 Aces had an excellent game against Golden Flats with again chances at both ends.

The Under 10 KIngs played Billingham Synthonia away and lost 2-1 in a very close game, with Sonny Richardson scoring.

The Under 11s had a great 4-1 win over Billingham Town, with goals from Oliver Johnson (2), Corbyn Mitchell and Jack Wood.

The Under 12 Aces had a great 5-2 win over Marton F.C., with goals from Aaron Willoughby, Tom Aldsworth, Luke Penberthy, Curtis Layfield and Liam Robson.

The Under 12 Kings lost against Greatham B away with goals from Hamish Wigley-Smith and Jai Aldus.

The Under 13s lost 2-1 in a very close game against Stockton Town, with Matthew Stokoe scoring after great work from debutante Callum Thomson.

The Under 14s had a great win over Golden Flats by 3-0, with goals from Josh Oyston and two from Johnson Ballan with Dominic Curl man-of-the-match.

The Under 15 Aces drew 3-3 against 21 Allstars with goals from Thomas Wilkinson, Luke Bailey and Zac Barrigan, while the Under 15 Kings came back from 2-0 down to move up to 2nd place in the 2nd division, with a 4-2 win over Billingham Rangers. Goals came from Gareth McMahon (2), Sam Parnaby and Harry Coulthard.

The Under 15 Angels had a fantastic 8-0 win over Leam Rangers, setting a new St Mary’s Record in the process with Kimberley Dodds scoring seven goals in a row and Shannon Reed getting the last one. They also had a fantastic win away at Jarrow Girls by 7-1, with a hat-trick from Danni Stephenson, two from Kimberley Dodds , and one each from Shannon Reid and Brodie Grayson.

The Girls are now top the league, scoring 45 goals and only conceding 3. They are still in the cup after winning 7 games and only losing 1.

A spokesperson for St Mary’s commented ,”This achievement by Kimberley has won her the Grass Roots Player of the Week. This is a massive achievement considering the Grass Roots Group covers all of the TJFA, North Riding Girls League, Russell Foster, Boys & Girls.
