Town Council deliver Easter eggstravaganza

Spennymoor Town Council gift Easter eggs
Spennymoor Town Council staff delivered thousands of Easter eggs to local schools, nurseries and care homes.

Following the success of Spennymoor Town Council’s project to supply all children in local primary schools, nurseries and the elderly in care homes, with a selection box at Christmas, it has also decided to supply the children and elderly residents with Easter treats.

Aldi, Spennymoor agreed to put in a special order for 2,350 Easter eggs as well as an assortment of treats for those with allergies and intolerances.

Spennymoor Town Mayor, Councillor Liz Maddison, said she was “eggstremely delighted that the Town Council had chosen to go ahead with this sweet idea”.

“The Easter Bunny will be out and about delivering the treats in a Covid-safe way shortly,” confirmed a Town Council spokesperson.
