Thornhill Primary School held its Year 6 leavers party on Friday 1 July at Elm Road Working Men’s Club.
Children arrived dressed for the occasion, and enjoyed the likes of a delicious large buffet, disco and games to enjoy. The event was organised solely by the parents who made sure to invite the teachers along too.
Tables were decked out with bouquets of balloons, and a colourful banner reading ‘Thornhill Leavers 2022’ hung from the ceiling next to the dance floor. One parent said, “It will be sad to see the childrens’ time at Thornhill come to an end. It’s a great school that has done a lot for the pupils over the years. A fantastic night was had by all.”
Recently, Thornhill Primary held a Sports Day inspired by the Commonwealth Games. Staff and parents witnessed some talented attempts at running, throwing, jumping, penalties and even darts from the children. Both events were tremendously enjoyed by involved staff, parents and children.
