For people who do not know where we are – we are centrally placed on Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland and our ornate four-faced clock tower can be seen across the town.
The Bishop Auckland Community Partnership was formed in 1997 and is a registered charity and has many projects under its umbrella that are beneficial to local people and visitors to Bishop Auckland Town.
The Trustees of the charity would welcome new volunteers to be members and/or Trustees of the Partnership who meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 10am. Volunteers are welcome for any of the projects.
All our projects are funded and non-profit making, made up with part time staff and volunteers.
The Four Clocks Centre is the main project where we facilitate meeting rooms for many organisations. We have a number of rooms available that are able to suit a variety of needs.
Also you can hire extras, including hot water boilers, refreshments, flip charts, projector etc. Meals and buffets can be arranged if required (they can be pr-ordered from the Time for You Tearoom located in the centre). All rooms have access to WIFI. We have rooms that can be used for one to one meetings up to rooms that can accommodate 50 people. Our room hire rates vary from £10 to £22.50 per hour depending on the size of the room.
Time 4 Toddlers Group is on every Friday 10am-12noon – excluding school holidays and bank holidays.
Bump to Beyond Infant, Breastfeeding Support Group is on every Thursday 9.30am-11.30am – excluding bank holidays and co-ordinators holidays.
BAASS (Bishop Auckland Alcohol Support Services) Group – every Monday 10am-12noon (excluding bank holidays).
Memory Club Group – every other Tuesday 1pm to 3pm. This is aimed for those in the community who suffer with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. (Excluding bank holidays and the volunteer co-ordinators holidays.)
Four Clocks Club Group is held every Friday 1pm to 3pm (excluding bank holidays and the volunteer co-ordinators holidays). The project is aimed at people who may need company to help combat loneliness and isolation. Feel free to come along and enjoy a range of activities and enjoy the food and refreshments.
Cultivate 4 Life Group – This project aims to support the young people and adults of Bishop Auckland and surrounding areas, with their current circumstances and needs, providing a holistic horticultural working environment and one to one support, together aid the community they are a part of.
Knitting Club Group – every 2 weeks on a Friday 10am-12noon – excluding bank holidays.
Rail Heritage Project – a permanent display of the 100 year old NUR banner and many photographs and items on display from the railway history of Bishop Auckland.
Bishop Auckland Family Contact Centre is another established and successful project where volunteers together with a co-ordinator provide a secure, safe and neutral environment for contact, so estranged parents and/or grandparents have the opportunity to meet their children on a regular basis.
Groups and projects also have bus or train trips to various places – for example the seaside, pantomime, museums, historic buildings and gardens.
We are also home to the ETC Princes Trust, Time for You Tearoom, NHS Speech and Language Therapy, Wear Rivers Trust, Hiyed CIC, Eric Knows CIC, Ellaleigh Book-Keeping Services Ltd, Resolve Counselling Services, Auckland Travel Ltd and Robin Figg Counselling Practice.
