Bishop Auckland Town Hall has expressed its delight in being able to continue its support of Bishop Auckland Civic Society’s annual charity quiz.
This year’s quiz will take place on Wednesday, December 2nd. Doors open at 6.45pm before the quiz starts at 7.30pm prompt.
Residents of the town are, once again, invited to pit their wits against quiz master Glynn Wales in the 12th annual General Knowledge Quiz. The closing date for entries is Monday, November 23rd.
Over the years many thousands of pounds have been raised for good causes, both local and national.
This year, the quiz will be held in aid of Rebecca Sands. Rebecca was diagnosed with Lissencephaly, a rare brain condition, when she was just 10 weeks-old. Her parents, Gemma and Michael, are trying to transform their garage into a sensory room for Rebecca.
The cause is particularly close to the question master Glynn’s heart, as he taught Gemma at Durham University. Team entry costs £9.00, with a maximum of 6 per team.
A spokesperson for the Town Hall said, “All items for the raffle have been donated by local townspeople and businesses and we are most grateful for their continued support. If you would like to contribute items please contact the Town Hall.”
