South West Durham News has launched its first ever podcast, which covers local football, on Thursday 2 November.
“If you have been following our current fundraising campaign,” said Editor, Archie MacKay, “you will know that we have ambitious plans to launch a series of podcasts in the coming year. And what better way to do that than celebrate our local football clubs?
“Or to put it another way, as a passionate football fan myself, by starting off our podcasting journey talking about football, I’m hoping we’re making the first steps on this new adventure a bit easier on ourselves. That said, just to add a bit of complication – because why make it too easy – we’ve decided to stream the new show live.”
The football show will be broadcast from 7pm to 8pm every week on Thursday throughout the season and will cover the Northern League as well as other local non-league football.
“We are delighted to announce that one of the clubs regularly covered will be Ferryhill Athletic,” said Archie, “and we’re also keen to give a voice to the women’s as well as the men’s game.
“We’re also interested in hearing from any businesses who may like to sponsor the show. You will receive a shout out at the beginning and end of each show as well as an extended advert at the half-time break.”
