Throughout the year, we have been showcasing the fantastic images captured by our talented community in our Photo of the Week competition. Each week we have had the difficult task of selecting one image from the multitude of submissions and now we have had the even more challenging task of whittling the full year’s photographs down to a final twelve.

Helping us to do so have been our sponsors at Bondgate Gallery and we have eventually agreed on the final shortlist, which, while always a subjective decision, we hope most readers will agree is a deserved final dozen.

It’s now over to you, our readers, to decide which image will be crowned the SWDN Photo of the Year and winner of the inaugural prize of a mounted and framed copy of the winning image, provided by our sponsor, Bondgate Gallery.

Voting is taking place on our Facebook page. The image with the most likes by the closing date of noon on Thursday 12 December will be declared the winner.

We would also like to thank everyone who took part in this year’s competition, whether your image made it into the paper or not. We had over 260 submissions for the 40 weeks of the competition – an amazing response!

If your picture was not selected this time, please feel free to enter again for the 2025 competition.
