Holly Lodge Care Home on Maddison Street, Shildon, celebrated its 10 year anniversary on Saturday 8th August with a summer fair.
The event was opened by stars of Channel 4s hit show Gogglebox, the Moffatt family from Bishop Auckland.
A spokesperson for the home said, “It was a very busy, lively day with everyone enjoying the many attractions, which included a bouncy castle, face painting, tombola, cake and pie stall, bottle raffle, silent auction, chocolate fountain, hot dog stall and much, much more.
“Holly Lodge’s activities coordinators Stacey Purvis and Vicky Whitfield did a wonderful job organising the day. We would like to thank Stuart Henry from the One Stop Shop on Byerley Road for helping provide the sweets and pop, and for very kindly donating a huge food hamper to raffle.
“The Cooperative Funeral Service very kindly donated prizes for the tombola and raffle and a huge thank you to everyone else who donated and helped out on the day to make it a great success.”
The proceeds raised at the event will help towards creating a sensory garden at Holly Lodge for the residents and families to enjoy.
