Preparations for Bishop Auckland Food Festival are well underway and, as well as the usual fabulous line-up of local producers, organisers have also secured a barrage of celebrity guest speakers for the two-day event.
The winner of The Great British Bake Off 2012, John Whaite, will be discussing his whirlwind year and passion for all things baking, after which he will be signing copies of his first book, John Whaite Bakes. (Saturday 20th April, 11am, £6).
Dean Edwards has been a familiar face on TV since making the final of MasterChef in 2005, and is now a resident chef on This Morning and Lorraine. He will be giving a cookery demonstration and book signing at the event. (Saturday 20th, 1pm, £6).
Best known to British TV viewers for playing Martin Platt for 21 years in Coronation Street, Sean Wilson will be demonstrating some of his favourite Northern recipes and talking about his true passion – cheese! (Saturday 20th, 3pm, £8).
Back by popular demand, The Fabulous Baker Brothers Tom and Henry will be demonstrating some of their favourite recipes gathered on their tasty tour of Britain. (Sunday 21st, 1pm, £8).
Ivor Peters – The Urban Rajah, will be giving a cookery demonstration, talk and book signing and will lead you through a journey of spice. (Sunday 21st, 3pm, £6.)
All of the above talks and demonsrations will be taking place in the Town Hall.
