St Mary’s is celebrating the news that the club has now welcomed the Bishop Auckland Girls (BAGGIES) along with Bishop Aucjkland Ladies into their club, with both now training at their clubhouse base and sharing facilities.
Bishop Auckland FC first team are already sharing the clubhouse and training facilities for pre-season training and with all the clubs now working together, it provides outlets for all ages of both male and female football from juniors to seniors.
BA Ladies have two teams while the BA Girls have seven from U8 to U16.
The club was also celebrating the news that two players, Alex Goundry and Aidan Hart, from their very successful U18 team from last season made the starting line up for BAFC first team in a pre-season 3-0 friendly win against Willington.
The U17 team returned from the Lorette-de-Mar Spanish Cup Tournament with an unbeaten record, playing three games, drawing two and beating AS Roma 3-0 in an excellent week of football in the sun.
The new U7 teams are coming through well with the U7 Kings having a great Color Run last weekend, enjoying all the fun and raising funds for their team.
The U9 Kings had a great tournament win at Norton & Stockton last Sunday, winning on penalties in the semi-final then a close 1-0 win over Newcastle Boys in the final.
St Mary’s have their own tournament this weekend on Saturday and Sunday at the St John’s Fields with over 60 teams competing from U7 to U15 age groups.
