Late last month, officers from Shildon Police teamed up with the pupils of St. John’s Primary School to tackle speeding on Jubilee Road.
Posting on their Facebook page, a spokesperson for Shildon Police said: “Our Speedwatch initiative saw these amazing ‘Little Helpers’ assist us in reminding drivers to slow down and keep our streets safe.
“Armed with big smiles and important messages, the children helped spread awareness about the dangers of speeding, especially near schools.
“We were thrilled to see how impactful their involvement was!
“Drivers not only slowed down but also gave lots of thumbs-up and smiles in support of the children’s efforts.
“A huge thank you to St. John’s Primary School for their enthusiasm.”
