Entries are now open for Shildon Town Council’s annual Sid Chaplin Short Story competition for 2013.
There is no theme for entries, and first prize for adults is £300.
Second prize is £150 while 3rd prize is £75. There are also prizes for the best entries submitted by juniors (aged between 8 and 17 years), as well as a prize for the best story submitted by a resident of Shildon.
The entrance fee is £2.50 per story for adults and is free for juniors.

The closing date for entries is Saturday 31st August 2013.
