On Wednesday 12th November the Shildon Children and Young People’s Action Network hosted the 2013/14 Young People’s Awards Ceremony in Shildon Civic Hall. The event was funded by Shildon Community First and sponsored by Hays Travel, Darlington Chair Cover Hire and Shildon Town Council.
More than 200 guests were entertained by local groups including Andrew Tombling School of Dance, New Shildon Baden Powel Scouts, Sunnydale Community College and the Tykes Theatre Group.
Derrick Robinson, Chairman of SCYPAN said, “The Awards Evening is to recognise and reward the young people of the town for all their hard work during 2013/14 with the awards being presented to very dedicated and talented young people.
“Each year we have more nominations and all the young people are really winners. My thanks go to all of those who nominated the young people as well as the young people themselves.
“A big thank you to Sunnydale Community College, St. John’s, Timothy Hackworth and Thornhill Primary Schools and local organisations for being part of the 2013/14 Awards.”
