Shildon AFC Under 14’s top of the table clash ended in disappointment when they were beaten for the 1st time this season away at Cargo Fleet.
Shildon started the first half playing up the slope into a gale force wind.
The first half ended 4-1 to the home side with Noah McCourt once again getting on the score sheet for Shildon, after an earlier effort had hit the woodwork.
Shildon quickly scored two goals in five minutes after the re-start, when a close range header from Jack Mortimer was followed up with a long range screamer from Tom Andelin, before a speculative long range effort deceived Shildon keeper Niall Higham and ended up in the Shildon net.
McCourt duly notched his second goal of the game but a combination of time wasting and stoic defending in the last 25 minutes by Cargo fleet kept Shildon at bay.
It was a great effort from all the team in horrendous conditions.
Tom Andelin was Shildon’s Man-of-the-Match.

Sunday’s bright and blustery morning saw Shildon AFC Under 8s at home to Stockton Town Yellows.
Play was strong from both sides and there were early misses at goal from both sides.
As the game progressed a clean sheet was kept by Shildon due to strong defending by Noah Fawcett (who scored the first goal), Xander Caygill, and goal keeper Adam Thompson.
Pressure was kept up-front by Joshua Todd, Sam Hopper and John Taylor, who scored two goals. Man-of-the-match went to Adam Thompson.
Final Score Shildon 3 – Stockton 0.
