Byerley Lodge 7853 in Shildon, supported by other lodges from the hall, held a MacMillan Coffee Morning on Saturday 28th September at the Masonic Hall on Middleton Road.
As well as the coffee and cakes, there were also other stalls, including crafts, raffle and face painting.
The morning was a huge success and raised the sum of £453.83. Further donations took this to over £510.
Stephen Blain, Worshipful Master of Byerley Lodge stated, “This event allowed us to support an excellent charity, whilst having fun.
“I am grateful to those who helped on the day and everyone else that supported the event”.
Stephen and his wife Ann were amongst the first to enter into the fun of having their faces painted for the event.
As residents had been unable to attend the event, Byerley Lodge donated a selection of cakes to a local care home, which were delivered personally by Stephen and Ann.
