Sedgefield Water Polo Club has congratulated club member, Thomas Forrest, who was recently selected to represent the North East Boys Under 14’s team at the Inter Regional Tournament, which was held over the weekend of 18th and 19th November in Walsall, West Midlands.
The North East Steelers were placed in a group alongside Scotland Saltires, East, South West Sharks and West Midland Warriors.
After an initial 11-7 win against East, the boys then lost against Scotland 8-5 in a tightly contested game before losing 12-4 to South East and then won 8-6 against West Midlands, which placed them in overall 7th position and secured them a place in Division 2 for the U16 tournament in 18 months’ time.
Thomas was also awarded the tournament’s highest goal-scorer award after having scored a fantastic 23 goals over the weekend, which is an excellent achievement in such prestigious company.
In addition to Junior and Senior sessions, Sedgefield Water Polo Club now offers a beginner session at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre on a Saturday afternoon for those wishing to try this fun and exciting sport.
