A Bishop Auckland author has released the second book in his series of educational historical fiction.
Primarily aimed at young readers, The Terror follows Graham Temby’s first novel Conflict, and continues the tale of the first novel’s young protagonist.
“It is about what happened next in the Norman Conquest,” explained Graham. “Both novels aim to tell the young readers the story of England from the time of the Norman Conquest.
“While they are of the historical fiction genre, I stick closely to the real record of what happened, so that the books are educational as well as entertaining.
“As they say on the TV: ‘some characters and events have been created for dramatization’.
“The books are written with young people from good readers at age 9 to mid-teens, although I have been told by adults that they enjoyed ‘Conflict’ too,” said Graham.
The book tells the tale of the happenings during The Harrying of the North, and all of the goings-on with Hereward-the-Wake in Ely, after the Norman Conquest.
It follows on from Conflict, which told the story of 1066, through the eyes of a young Saxon boy.
