Season kicks off for St Mary’s youth teams

The season kicked off for Bishop’s St Mary’s teams last weekend with 23 games resulting in 13 wins 7 losses and 3 draws.

The Under 9 Bs played Norton & Stockton B team and won 1-0 with a goal from Oliver Lamb after a great pass from Charlie Ellison. Man-of-the-match went to Jai Aldus. St. Marys also won the friendly with
2 goals from man-of-thematch Connor Byrne.

The Under 9 As had a good 3-0 win against Norton & Stockton A team with Aaron Willoughby scoring a hat-trick and Cameron Martin getting the man-of-the-match award.

The Under 7s won 4-0 against Nunthorpe with goals from Joseph Foster 2, Blake Winter and Sonny Richardson.

The Under 8s had a great 2-1 win away at Stockton Town with goals from man-of-the-match Will Barnham. The friendly went to Stockton with Regan Nixon starting for St. Marys.

The Under 10 As lost 1-0 in a very close game against Stockton Town.

The Under 10 Bs had a good 2-2 draw against Newton Aycliffe Youth with goals from Jack Hodgson and Ryan Watson after good work from Ethan Stephenson with Tom Andelin as man-of-the match. The friendly was a 1-1 draw with Jack Hodgson scoring again.

The Under 11s lost 5-2 against Nunthorpe with Josh Oyston being awarded man-of-the-match and goals from Bailey Prudhoe and Jack Blacklock.

The Under 12 As won 8-1 against Soccarena Lyons with goals from Wigley (4) Reay (2) Swift (1) and Goundry (1). The Under 12 Bs were very unlucky to lose 2-1 against Sunderland Fulwell in a very close
game with the Fulwell goalkeeper pulling off some magnificent saves.

Gareth McMahon scored for St. Marys and callum Blades was man-of-the-match. The Under 13 As (pictured) had a great win against Redcar with goals from Karl Williamson and Luke Molyneux and Daniel
Thexton (man-of-thematch).

The Under 13 Bs lost 7-2 against Stockton Rangers after starting well going into a 2-1 lead with goals from Ben Hunt and Callum Mcleod with Craig Moody given man-of-the-match.

The Under 14 As had an excellent 4-2 win at Norton & Stockton with goals from Ryan Matthews, Callum Smith, Lewis Milner and man-of-the-match Alex McGrath. The Under 14 Bs also scored 4 to win 4-2
against Bedale with goals from Jeven Robinson, Thomas Mackley, Callum Keane and John Todd, joint man-of-the-match went to Benito Henry and Michael Arrowsmith.

The Under 15s were very unlucky away at Beechwood losing 4-3 to a last minute goal with St. Mary’s scorers James Lupton and Tony Hindmarch.

The Under 16 As won 2-0 against Allstars with goals from Danny Howard and Lee Guilbey with man-of-the-match going to Scott Stainton.

The Under 16 Bs won 2-1 against North Ormesby with goals from Thomas Knowles and Christian Taylor.
