The Choir from Timothy Hackworth Primary School visited Durham Cathedral on Thursday 19th June to take part in a music outreach celebration.
This programme provides a wonderful opportunity for pupils to sing in Durham Cathedral in front of their family and friends, alongside other primary schools from the local area.
Speaking on behalf of the members of the choir, Mrs Simpson-May, Deputy Head Teacher and choir lead, said: “What a fantastic day we had.
“From the moment we arrived, all members of our brilliant choir were amazing and fantastic role models for our school.
“The singing was beautiful and made even more special with the opportunity to perform in such a special building.
“The music consisted of a varied programme, including pieces with the theme of All Things Bright and Beautiful such as The Beatles’ Blackbird and Creatures of the Deep.
“Not only did we get the opportunity to take part in this fantastic musical experience, but we also enjoyed looking around the Cathedral and the picnic we had outside was certainly enjoyed at lunchtime.
“This will certainly be a memory we will treasure forever.”
