On Wednesday 9 July, the choir from Timothy Hackworth Primary School visited The Glasshouse at Gateshead.
The Glasshouse is an International Centre for Music, where many concerts and special events are held.
Mrs. Simpson-May, Deputy Head Teacher and choir lead, alongside members of the choir, have shared the following from their day: “We have been looking forward to this day for a number of months and have been rehearsing to prepare to be the best that we can be. When we arrived, we enjoyed some breakfast treats before the event started.
“We enjoyed looking out onto the quayside and could see the Tyne Bridge from our seats. It was a great way to start the day.
“We then took part in The Big Sing and had the most fantastic morning. There was a live band, and we joined together with other schools to form a large singing group.
“A morning of singing and dancing was a perfect way to spend a Wednesday morning. The music was varied and included pieces such as Space Oddity by David Bowie.
“The event had a ‘Zero Gravity’ theme, so we even decided to design our own t-shirts to wear on the day. We had lots of fun making these in school.
“We smiled throughout the whole morning. We are sure this will be another memory we will cherish forever.”
