Shildon AFC crashed out of the FA Cup at the earliest stage after falling to Ashington at home in the extra preliminary round last weekend.

The home side took a 1-0 lead into the break but were put to the sword by a four-goal second half blitz before snatching a last minute goal that proved no consolation.

The Railwaymen followed the defeat with one of similar magnitude in midweek when they fell 3-5 to Boro Rangers after holding a 3-1 lead at the break.

However, the decisive moment came in 43 minutes when Elliot Day was sent off and the side collapsed in the second half before losing another man when Max Allen saw red after the final whistle.
