With their nearest rivals on cup duty, Shildon AFC took the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Northern League with a 2-3 win at Boro Rangers.
The hosts demonstrated why they headed the league in the first weeks by taking the lead in the sixth minute through Callum Hickman.
But the Railwaymen roared back to level with a Joe Posthill penalty and took the lead just after the half hour wehn Alex White nodded home from close range.
Shildon looked to have wrapped up the points with seven minutes to go when Billy Greulich-Smith headed in the third, but a second for the hosts made for a nervy few minutes before the final whistle.
This weekend, Shildon play Birtley Town at Dean Street before hosting Norton & Stockton Ancients in the rearranged DCC tie on Tuesday evening.
