Rail Usage On The Rise

At a recent Heritage Line Community Rail Partnership Presentation, a Community Rail Partnership officer showed that traffic on the railway line between Bishop Auckland and Darlington has risen over the last three years. He also informed those in attendence that the 20 year-old Class 142 Sets currently running on the line will be replaced when surplus stock becomes available.

It is also expected that trains from Weardale Railway will operate into Bishop Auckland from May 29th, after trains were obtained from Scottish Rail.
