Three pupils at Saint John’s Primary School in Shildon became world changers over the Easter holiday. Megan Paterson, along with her sister Imogen and friend Faye Stokoe, spent time baking and selling cookies to raise funds for the street children of the Philippines.
Deputy Head Christine Johnston described the girls, whose actions were completely spontaneous as ‘three lovely people who even as primary children already care enough about the world they are in to want to make the bad bits good.’
Megan then wrote an article for school newsletter to say the ‘thank you to everyone who helped us.’ Revd. David, in receiving the £15.60 raised said, that the girls were “an example and inspiration to us all. Care in action”, he added, “is what changes the world, and makes it a happier, more loved place for all of us to share from Shildon to Manila.”
