Shildon’s charity poppy appeal badge, led by badge designer, Mark Arnott and now in it seventh year, has launched a new design.
“We are overwhelmed at the enthusiasm and support from the Shildon community and surrounding areas,” said Mark.
Profits from sales are donated to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and, says Mark, as usual proof will be posted on social media once the donation is made.
“We are also extremely grateful to those who are no longer in Shildon but still buy their ‘home town badges’ each year,” he added.
“We also post them nationwide and internationally each year as far as Scotland, Canada and Australia.
“If you would like yours posting please let us know.
“This year we went for a change of shape, but still staying with our unknown soldier. We hope you like the new design.”
The badge, costing £3, is available to buy from the Royal George Pub, All Cyced Up, Old Shildon Workingmens Club, Elm Road Workingmens Club, Shildon Railway Institute, Shildon BR Cricket Club, the Queens Head and the Canteen Bar & Kitchen on Hackworth Industrial Estate and from Mark himself by emailing arni2007[@]btinternet[.]com.
