Durham Constabulary is urging people to keep a lookout for this gold-coloured Honda Civic, registration number OV62 WJZ.
The car belongs to missing man Darren who was last seen in Grinton Park Way, in Darlington, at around 1.44am on Thursday, May 29.
His car was later seen at around 8.30pm the same day in the Tindale area.
Darren is 5ft 10inches tall, with a shaved head, and may be wearing a blue coat.
The 44-year-old has links to the Penshaw and Hylton areas of Sunderland.
He also frequents Hamsterley Forest, Crook, Willington, Bishop Auckland, and Cleveland.
Detective Superintendent Peter Carr, from Durham Constabulary, said: “We’re really concerned for Darren’s welfare and would urge anyone who has any information on his whereabouts to get in touch.
“Darren drives a distinctive car – if you have seen it, please contact us immediately.”
